Dear Diary,

Zayda and I have been living together in a small apartment for the last six months. The apartment is in the Culpepper Apartments building within the Spice Market. It isn’t as luxurious as the Arts Quarter where I used to live with my dad, but it has a balcony that is perfect for BBQs and painting. I loved the Medina Studios Apartments, but it really needed a balcony so I could paint in the fresh air.

Our apartment in the Spice Market has another bonus too! Yuki and Clementine live right next door! They visit just about every day and it’s great to have so many friends close by. I love it!

Dear Diary,

Zayda and I went to the Spice Festival and most of the tables were taken. We saw a purple-haired girl sitting by herself, so we asked her if we could join her. The first thing out of her mouth was, “Of course. But please tell me one thing. How did you find me so quickly?” It took me a moment to figure out what the heck she was talking about. After a few seconds, it suddenly dawned on me that she is the person who was sending those weird messages! I tried to play it cool like it wasn’t just a coincidence that I found her, but I’m not completely sure that I had her fooled.

The girl’s name is Alejandra Sombra. She goes to my high school but we’re not in any of the same classes. I never noticed her in the halls, but she certainly noticed me. She told me that all she had to do was find out my log in for the computers at school and the rest was easy as pie.

Dear Diary,

I just got off the phone with Zayda, who was very upset. She told me that she just found out her parents passed away while they were out at The Blue Velvet. Her grandparents won’t give her any details about what happened. They just keep saying there was an accident and leave it at that. Zayda also told me she has to move to San Myshuno to live with her grandparents. I’m going to miss being able to just walk down the street to visit her.

Naturally, Zayda won’t be at school for a little while. However, once she’s back she wants me to help her find out what happened. She is determined to get to the real story, no matter what.

Dear Diary,

Clementine and Zayda were fighting today. We were watching our favourite movie and then Clem started picking on Zayda out of nowhere. She was saying that Zayda has a crush on Quince and that’s the only reason why she goes over to Clem’s house. They’re not talking to each other right now, so I can’t hang out with them both at the same time anymore. It’s so childish.

Dear Diary,

My parents finally let me create a Farce Book account. It’s a funny site where people can make up all kinds of stuff about themselves and post as if they are really living the lie. The only two rules are to keep things PG-13 and you must pretend that everything put on Farce Book is true when you comment on it. Some people even use stock photos of people they wished they looked like instead of a selfie for their profile picture.

I’m using a real photo, but said my name is Freckle Rose. I’m 23 and I’m a full-time artist, bartender, and food critic. I am hoping that choosing my dream jobs will help me make them a reality, haha. Zayda was already on there and I searched for her profile. She said she’s a pro basketball player who lives with seven cats and lives on protein drinks, hehe.

Dear Diary,

Today I played at the park with my friends Zayda, Yuki, Clementine, and Quince. Clem and Quin are my cousins, but they are my friends too!

We all play pirate a lot at the playground, but I like playing aliens at the spaceship playground more. One time I met a cool girl named Eloise there. She has the best alien costume ever. It looks very real. The spaceship is too far to walk to though, so I don’t get to go there very much.
