Dear Diary,

I’ve been making a living a few different ways. I’ve been applying my skills I’ve learned from blogging to manage a social media site. I’m just a clickbait writer right now, so I’ve also been selling paintings in marketplaces. I’ll even hold a bake sale once in a while, but my baking skills aren’t that great yet. During the weekends, when I’m really short on cash, I help out at my cousin Quince’s cafe.

Yes, Quince Smith owns his own cafe! I’m so proud of him! I never thought he had the work ethic or business knowledge to run his own place. I’m glad he proved me wrong because it’s very inspiring. It gives me hope that one day I might be able to open up my own bar. I really want to create a cozy community place that features local art all over the walls.

Dear Diary,

Quince never calls anyone by their real name. He has been making nicknames for everyone since we were kids. I’m “Ro” because my last name is Rose. I don’t know why my last name needed to be shortened even more when it’s already short….ANYWAYS, his sister Clementine is “Miss Tine”, but only because she won’t let him call her “Tiny”. Zayda is “Tommy” because of her last name, Thomas. And finally, Yuki is “Shida” after her last name, Yoshida. None of these make any sense to me. He’s such a goof.

Dear Diary,

My family and I went camping over the weekend. It was the last weekend before my parents had to go back to work, so they wanted to have one last family outing together. Mommy’s twin sister Jayla and her family came too, so I got to play with my cousins Quince and Clementine all weekend! Grandpa didn’t come though because he doesn’t like camping very much.

Dear Diary,

Today I played at the park with my friends Zayda, Yuki, Clementine, and Quince. Clem and Quin are my cousins, but they are my friends too!

We all play pirate a lot at the playground, but I like playing aliens at the spaceship playground more. One time I met a cool girl named Eloise there. She has the best alien costume ever. It looks very real. The spaceship is too far to walk to though, so I don’t get to go there very much.
