Amy: “One night, the stomach ache was so bad that I thought I was dying. Next thing I knew, I was floating and changing. Caleb took my humanity away from me and turned me into this…thing. When Lilith found out, she literally cackled.

The Vatores might appear to be your friends and they might seem to care about you, but I’m sure they are doing all of this for payment of some kind. You should try and figure out a way to move out of here while you still can.”

Jaina: “But I have nowhere to go!”

Amy: “Maybe that new boyfriend of yours can help you…assuming he really cares about you.”

Amy: “The more that I came over to visit the Vatores, the further in love I fell with Caleb. I started spending the night here because I could never convince him to come over to my place. However, I learned later that the only reason why I thought Caleb was so perfect was because he was using vampire mind tricks to make me feel that way. Caleb and his sister were slowly killing me with their nightly feedings and I didn’t even know it.”

Amy: “When I came over to the Vatore house, Caleb and Lilith were the perfect hosts. I enjoyed getting to know them and I would come over often. Often times, Lilith and I would play chess while Caleb played music on the organ. They didn’t own a TV back then, you see. They didn’t buy that until they heard that a teenager would be living at the house.”

Jaina: “They bought the TV just for me? How thoughtful!”

Amy: “Yes, but shut up until I’m done my story.”

Amy: “Back when I was a human, I didn’t want to move into a big city like San Myshuno. I somehow managed to come across the perfect house that fit my small budget in this neighbourhood. I didn’t question why the house was so cheap because I was so excited about being able to finally afford my very own home.

The day I moved in, Caleb came over and introduced himself. He invited me over to meet his sister and have a few drinks. I was feeling shy, but I really wanted to make some new friends and get to know the people in the neighbourhood.”

Amy: “I’m sure you’ve forgotten now that you’re a vampire yourself, but vamps are literally monsters. I don’t care how sweet you think Dorian is. He’s a monster, plain and simple. He’s even part demon, did you know that?”

Jaina: “Yes, he told me all about his father…but Dorian is different. He’s been treating me so well. What kind of monster could be so nice? And the Vatore siblings – they have been so great too! How can anyone call them monsters?”

Amy: “I think it’s time you heard about how I became a vampire. Maybe it’ll bring you back to the reality you now live in.”

Jaina: “Hi, Amy! What brings you here?”

Amy: “Well, seeing as I live in the neighbourhood, I thought I should drop by and see how you’re doing. It’s been a little while since we’ve talked. I’ve also been hearing rumours that Dorian has been coming by here a lot lately. I wanted to give you some advice about vampire dating.”

Jaina: “Oh, you heard about that?”

Amy: “Everyone is talking about it. This is a small neighbourhood, you see.”

Amy: “Thanks for helping me, Dorian. It could have gone a lot worse.”

Dorian: “You’re welcome. I’m sorry that my mother got involved.”

Amy: “Hey, don’t sweat it! …So, what do you think they’re going to do with her now?”

Dorian: “The council will have a meeting and decide her fate. They will either turn her or kill her, most likely. I don’t think they’d just let her go.”

Amy: “I almost feel a little sorry for her. But, unfortunately for her, not sorry enough.“

Dorian: “Yes, she is a delicate and pitiful creature, isn’t she? It’s hard to believe that you were like that human not that long ago.”

Amy: “Yeah… Um, I’m going to go see if your mom needs anything before I go. I’ll see ya around.”

Celeste: “Ahhh, it is so good to be back home. I’d love to show you around sometime, girl. However, we need to decide what we’re going to do with you first. I can’t just have you wandering around here so Dorian and Amy will have to take you downstairs for a while. I’m sorry to have to be such a terrible hostess.”

Celeste: “Oh my! So this is the little thing giving you so much trouble tonight?”

Amy: “I was resting. They caught me off-guard, you see. If you had provided me with the guardian I had asked for, all this might have been avoided.”

Celeste: “Indeed. I thought you could handle this post, but it seems I was wrong. I’ll see to it that someone is assigned immediately.”

Amy: “Thanks…”

Celeste: “Dorian, this drafty place is not safe for a young human girl. I think she should come with us and see our lavish residence. Please help Amy bring her along.”

Dorian: “Yes, mother.”
